Evaluations
Pediatric Play provides comprehensive strength based assessments that focus on a child’s skills and abilities. Evaluations takes place in a child’s natural environment to gain the clearest picture of their support needs. Results will be discussed and a written report will be provided.
A comprehensive assessment includes:
Parent questionnaire/background review
Past assessment/treatment plan review
Child observation during play
Language Sample and Analysis if appropriate
Standardized Testing if appropriate
Collaboration with family to establish goals and treatment plan

Pediatric Play specializes in child-led and neurodiverse affirming speech therapy which allows children to thrive. Using DIR/Floortime® principals that focus on the child’s unique individual needs as well as the relationship. No two children are the same and no two speech therapy sessions look the same.
Sessions are child-led and focus on their interests to encourage communication. Having fun is so important!

Speech Sound Disorders/ Apraxia
With extensive experience in articulation disorders, phonological disorders, and Childhood apraxia of speech, techniques are utilized that target a child’s individual needs. A motor-planning approach is utilized with children demonstrating characteristics of apraxia. A high rate of practice is encouraged during fun/engaging activities to promote motor learning.

Early Intervention
Early intervention focuses on early language learners who are first learning to communicate. These children benefit from a play based child-led approach with specific modeling to encourage communication. Parents are an important part of an early intervention model.

Increase verbal imitation/language use
Reduce a child’s frustration

Gestalt Language Processing
We provide support to gestalt language processors using a Natural Language Acquisition approach and child-directed therapy. This method is designed to help your child move from echolalic speech to spontaneously generated language.
Therapy for gestalt language processing is designed to:
Meet the child where they are, using their strengths and interests to promote engagement and communication
Acknowledge scripts and understand the meaning behind them
Model meaningful utterances to increase communication
Educate families on how best to communicate with their child to promote language acquisition
Provide AAC support for children who need additional communication support
Parent Coaching/Consultation
Our parents are our best teachers! We provide support and education to parents and professionals who would like more guidance in understanding and developing their child’s communication.
Parent/ Professional coaching is designed to:
Provide specific advice to encourage a child’s communication in the home and community
Provide AAC support/suggestions to increase device use
Analyze language samples and provide recommendations to encourage spontaneous language for gestalt language processors
Answer any questions related to pediatric communication.
Provide suggestions to increase regulation and engagement during child-directed play.
Collaborate with your child’s school team to make sure they have the best plan possible for their learning style
